The Knights' run to the WPIAL 4A title game came to an end Tuesday with a 3-1 loss to #2 seed West Mifflin.  Pitchers Jacob Wagner (3 innings, 2ER), Cody Stull (2 innings, 1ER), and Jacob Stallsmith (1 inning, 0ER) kept the game close and worked out of some big jams, but the offense struggled to move baserunners all night.  

Knoch got only 5 men on base in the first four innings.  Eli Sutton walked in the first and fourth innings, Angelo DeLeonardis singled in the third, and Isaac Roddy followed up Sutton's fourth inning walk with another walk.  Two batters later, Wagner hit an infield single and the Knights loaded the bases with just one out, but couldn't produce a run and trailed 2-0.  

In the top of the fifth, Luke Priester led off with an infield single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Dathan Gillis.  Priester got to third when DeLeonardis reached on a ground ball error, and scored on an RBI groundout by Brady Wozniak.  West Mifflin answered in the bottom half of the fifth, and made it 3-1.  

In the sixth, Sutton led off with a single and the Knights got the bases loaded with no outs after Roddy was hit by a pitch and Luke DiSanti drew a walk.  The Titans struck out the side to end the threat, and no runners reached base for the Knights in the top of the seventh.  

The Knights will play Laurel Highlands in a consolation game for third place in WPIAL 4A, and the winner of that game will advance to the PIAA playoffs.  The date and location have not been announced yet.
