Hunter Lang got support as Knoch’s starting pitcher against the Burrell Bucs on Monday, May 6, 2024. Sean Morgan doubled, scoring Cooper Allison in the 1st inning. In the top of the fourth, Logan Cypher hit his second home run of the season, scoring Senior Captain Jacob Stallsmith. Sean Morgan in the top of the fifth, hit his first home run of the season, and earned 3 RBI’s, which brought the score to 5-0 Knoch. Freshman Dylan Roth was 1 for 2, on a single, and scored a run. Cooper Allison, and Logan Cypher each had two RBI’s. The Knoch Knights had 11 runs on 12 hits. Hunter Lang pitched 5 innings, giving up 1 hit, 1 run, struck out 5, walked 5, and earned his third win of the season! Noah Glassic pitched the sixth inning and gave up 1 hit. 7-foot-tall Sophomore Zane Pacek took the mound in the 7th inning to close out the victory vs. the Burrell Bucs with a final score of 11-1. On Saturday, May 4th, the Knights battled Seton LaSalle. Jacob Stallsmith was the starting pitcher, and went 6 innings. He gave up 4 hits, 1 run, striking out 6, and walking 4. Braden Kriley gave up the winning run in the 7th inning. Ryan McCurdy had the lone RBI. Kyle Morgan and Logan Cypher each had 2 hits. Next game is Monday, 6th at Burrell at 4 PM.
On Friday, May 3rd, the Knoch Knights took on the Shadyside Academy Bull Dogs, beating them 5 to 1. Cody Stull got the start and went the complete game, giving up one run, 4 hits, striking out 4, and walking 2. He was the third pitcher to work a complete game in a week. Logan Cypher led the way, going 3 for 3, with a single, triple and home run, with 1 RBI. Dante` Pelloni and Noah Glassic each had an RBI.
Senior Braden Kriley started pitching Tuesday with the WPIAL playoffs on the line. He gave the Knights 4 2/3 innings giving up 6 hits and 4 runs. Braden then handed the ball over to Hunter Lang, who got his second victory of the season. Hunter gave up 2 hits and one run in 2 1/3 innings.
Another big day for Senior Brady Wozniak, who went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's. The big hit was in the bottom of the seventh with bases loaded. Consequently, he hit a line drive in left-center obtaining a game-winning single. He thereby knocked in Landon Harrison and Kyle Morgan with the tying and winning runs. Jacob Stallsmith was also 2 for 3 with one RBI. Logan Cypher tripled, and had one RBI. Cooper Allison had one RBI.
This win put the Knoch Knights in the playoffs. Next game is against Shadyside Academy Friday, May 3rd on their turf at 4:15 PM.
Zane Pacek, our 7-foot sophomore, took the baseball in the game vs. Hampton on Monday. He went 6 1/3 innings, giving up 9 hits, 6 runs, striking out 4, and walking one batter. Jacob Stallsmith then took the mound in the seventh inning and went 2/3 of an inning to finish the game. Zane's win helped as the Knights had 16 runs and 21 hits. Logan Cypher went 4 for 5 with 4 runs batted in. Brady Wozniak was 3 for 5 with a double, triple and single. Aiden Jones was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's. Noah Glassic had 3 RBI's. Next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30th at No Off Season field at 4 PM.
Junior Noah Glassic got his first Varsity start over the Deer Lakes' Lancers, and first Varsity Victory with a 4 to Nothing score. Noah pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 hits, striking out 2, and walking 1. Kyle Morgan, Brady Wozniak, Sean Morgan and Logan Cypher each had one RBI. Jacob Stallsmith had two RBI's and one stolen base. Next game is Monday, April 29th at Hampton.
Sophomore Hunter Lang got his first start for a complete game. Earning his first win of the year, Hunter gave up zero runs, 3 hits, struck out 5, and walked one. Logan Cypher was 2 for 4, Sean Morgan doubled, Aidan Jones and Kyle Morgan each had an RBI. Cooper Allison had 4 stolen bases! The Knights had 7 hits and 7 runs. Logan Cypher, Noah Glassic, and Kyle Morgan each had 2 hits. Sean Morgan, Zach Saeler, and Brady Wozniak each had one stolen base.
The makeup game for Knoch Knights vs. Highlands from 4/2/24 was played Thursday, 4/4/24 at Pullman Park in Butler. It took Knoch 9 innings to beat Highlands 8 to 4. Zane Pacek took the mound for the Knights. Zane went 6 innings, gave up 5 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), struck out 7 and walked two. In the 7th, he turned it over to Cody Stull, who got the win with 3 hits, 2 runs, 3 strike outs, and 2 walks.
Jacob Stallsmith, Aidan Jones, and Brady Wozniak all had doubles. Brady Wozniak and Aidan Jones each were 2 for 3. Brady Wozniak and Kyle Morgan each had 2 RBI's. Logan Cypher, Dante Pelloni, and Cooper Allison all had 1 RBI each.
On Friday, March 22, 2024, Knoch Knights' Varsity traveled to scrimmage Valley High School. The temperature for the game was in the low 40 degrees, with rain throughout most of the game.
Knoch came home with a 10-1 victory. Braden Kriley pitched all 7 innings, and gave up only two hits. Knoch had eight hits. Kyle Morgan, Jacob Stallsmith and Brady Wozniak all smashed doubles. Meanwhile, Sean Morgan, Brady Wozniak, and Kyle Morgan each had 2 RBI's. The next game is Monday, 3:00 against Butler in Pullman Park.2
