In another tight game to the end, we watched our young Knoch Knights, find a way to come away with a 1st RND playoff victory over the visiting Beaver Bobcats 52-48.  Knoch trailed 43-35 early in the 4th quarter only respond with a 17-5 run to close the game.  The defensive effort was outstanding throughout the night.  Keeping the Knights close as they struggled offensively.  Derek Lang paced the Knights with 17, Teegan Finucan had 14, including the go ahead bucket in the 4th quarter the gave Knoch a 49-48 lead.  Jackson Bauman ended the night with 12, with back 2 back 3's in the 4th to tie the game.  Kaden Spencer was outstanding on the defensive end, plus 3 huge offensive rebounds in the 4th quarter.  Zane Packe had 5 blocks and Zarian Finucan hit 2 foul shots with 3 seconds left to seal the victory for Knoch.  Knoch improves to 15-8 overall and advances to the round of 8, where they will face top seed Lincoln Park on Wednesday, site and time TBD. In the last game of the regular season, what would you ask for besides another close hard fought game.  Knoch dropped a 62-58 decision to the No.3 team in 3A.  A great way to get ready for the playoffs.  The Knights put 2 players in doubles, led by Jackson Bauman with 24 and Zane Pacek with 10.  Knoch finished the regular 14-8 and completely flipped there record from last year, going from 8-14, to 14-8, finishing 2nd in the section and having a home playoff game this Friday.   As we close this chapter of the season, we are looking forward to the challenge of the playoffs.  The Knights are back in action at home in the 1st round of the playoffs Friday evening against the Beaver Bobcats.  Tip time is scheduled for 7pm Knoch   18   11   12  17   58 SSA       23   13   12  14   62 Knoch Double Figures Jackson Bauman 24 Zane Pacek  10

In front of a packed house at Highlands High School, we watch our young Knoch Knights step up and play a complete game.  Leading a balanced attack, Derek Lang had 17, including 11 in the 3rd, Teegan Finucan had 13, with 2 huge 3's in the 4th quarter.  Jackson Bauman controlled the game from the Point chipping in 8pts, Kaden Spencer played an outstanding defensive tough game, including chipping in 7pts.  Zane Pacek may have only had 4pts, but his defense in the 2nd half on Brayden Foster, holding the Highlands big man to 6pts.   Zarian Finucan chipped in 6, including at 3 at the buzzer to end the 3rd quarter.  Vinnie DeFelice hit a huge 3 at 1st quarter buzzer.  Knoch came away with a 58-53 victory.  Knoch now stands at 14-7, and finishes with a 7-3 section record, which is good enough for second place.  Knoch will now wait for the playoff pairings to come out Monday afternoon.  Knoch will be back in action on Monday evening at Shady Side Academy to finish up the regular season. In a tight game back and forth, watching two very good teams battle it out in Saxonburg.  Hampton was able to make a couple more plays in the 4th quarter to come away with a 56-48 victory.  The Knights effort was outstanding holding Peter Kramer to 10pts under his season average.  Knoch was led by Jackson Bauman with 18, Teegan Finucan with 16 and Zarian Finucan with 10.  Knoch will travel to Highlands on Friday night with second place on the line.  Knoch is now 13-6 and 6-3 in section play. On a great night to honor our Seniors Jacob Fox and Zarain Finucan, we honored them in the best way possible with a win.  Knoch won 51-41 victory over visiting Indiana, in a worksman like effort.  The Knights were led by Jackson Bauman 18pts and Teegan Finucan 13pts.  Zarian Finucan hit a huge 3 in the 3rd quarter pushing the lead to double digits.  Knoch who has clinched a playoff berth for the 2nd straight year, will be back in action Tuesday night at home against Section leader and Rival the Hampton Talbots. The Knights got back into the win column tonight at Greensburg Salem 57-46.  Knoch was led by Derek Lang and Jackson Bauman with 18 and Teegan Finucan chipped in 12.  Kaden Spencer and Zarian Finucan had outstanding defensive efforts, and Vinnie Defelice had a huge bucket in the 4th quarter to help Knoch pull away.  The Knights are now 12-6 overall and 5-2 in section play.  They are back in action Friday night at Home vs Indiana, in which we will honor our Seniors Zarian Finucan and Jacob Fox. In front of a packed gym, we witnessed why the Knoch/Freeport rivalry is so great, and you throw out the records when we get together.  Freeport came out firing and built a 36 - 24 lead at the half.  Only to see Knoch fight back in the 3rd, taking the lead at one point 41-40.  Freeport ended up making more plays at the end and came away with a 63-55 victory over the Knights.  Knoch was led by Jackson Bauman with 17 and Kaden Spencer with 16.  Freeport was lead by Brady Sullivan's 19, Danny King 13 and Carson Kane 10.  Knoch is now 11-6, and 4-2 in section.  Knoch will be back in action Tuesday at Greensburg Salem. In another nail bitter, the Knights fell to Kiski Area 77-76 in overtime.  In a back and forth affair, no team lead by more than 5 points in the 2nd half.  Knoch put 4 players in double figures, Jackson Bauman with 25, Teegan Finucan 19, Derek Lang 16 and Zane Pacek had 14.  Kiski Area was led by Isaiah Gonzalez with 28, who hit the shot with 10 seconds left to give Kiski a 1 point lead.  Colin Keller had 19 and Carson Heinle had 15 for the Cavaliers.  Knoch will be back in action at home on Friday night against section rival Freeport.  The Knights are now 11-5 and 4-1 in section play. Knoch ran into a physical, determined Armstrong basketball team.  Dropping a 48-46 decision.  The Knights trailed by 8 at half and battled all the back throughout the 2nd half having chances to tie or take the lead throughout the 4th quarter.  They just could not get over the top.  Credit goes to Armstrong for there physical and deliberate play.  Knoch was led by Jackson Bauman with 15, Derek Lang had 8, Kaden Spencer and Teegan Finucan chipped in 7.  Knoch now stands at 11-4 and 4-1 in section.  The Knights are back in action Tuesday night at the Castle, against Kiski Area. In another nailbitter the Knights found a way to come out with a big section victory over rival Highlands.  Needing overtime for the 68-65 victory, Knoch was led by Teegan Finucan with a career high 30pts, Derek Lang had 12 on 4 threes and Jackson Bauman chipped in 11.  Another team victory for Knights, Kaden Spencer continues to bring defensive energy and his foul shot in overtime gave Knoch the lead for good.  Zane Pacek played solid defense down the stretch and Zarian Finucan off the bench made big defensive plays and hit foul shots in the 4th and overtime.  Knoch improves to 11-3 overall and 4-1 in section play.  Knoch will be back in action Saturday evening at Armstrong High School. At a sold out Hampton gym tonight, Knoch dropped a tough one 51-49 at the buzzer.  In a game either team never had a bigger than 6pts.  Jackson Bauman lead the Knights with 16, Kaden Spencer continues his outstanding defensive effort, and chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds.  Teegan Finucan also scored 10 for Knoch.  Hampton was lead by Peter Kramer with 29. Traveling to rival Freeport, the Knights posted a 65-48 win to start the section off 1-0 and improve to 7-2 overall.  Knoch was lead by Jackson Bauman with 27 and Teegan Finucan chipped in 18.  Freeport was led by Brady Sullivan's 25.  Knoch led wire to wire.  Knoch will host Greensburg Salem Friday night at the Castle.
