The Knoch Knights battled the Highland Rams for first place in the section last night as both teams entered the contest 3-0.  The Knights jumped out early to a 15-5 lead after the first quarter with great team defense and the hot shooting from the perimeter.  Riding the scoring of Nina Shaw the Knights built a halftime lead of 33-18.  The Knights continued their focused play during the second half limiting the Rams on every position.  The Knights won the hard fought section battle 50-33 and take over sole possession of first place in the section.  High scorers for the Knights was Nina Shaw with 26 points netting 5 three pointers on the evening.  Maddie Boyer chipped in with 10 points.   The JV team improved to 4-3 on the year winning their fourth consecutive game defeating the Rams 36-17.  Taylor Stevens had the hot hand knocking down 3 three pointers to finish the game with 9 points.  Both teams are back in action tonight when they host District 10 and Butler County opponent the Slippery Rock Rockets.  Good Luck Knights.
