On Thursday in a non section game at Avonworth, it looked like Knoch was on its way to a big offensive day early, scoring 3 runs in the top of the first.  #3 hitter Eli Sutton doubled after two quick outs, and scored on a single by Isaac Roddy.  Jacob Stallsmith picked up his first of two singles on the day, and moved Roddy to third.  Brady Wozniak plated Roddy on a single, and Stallsmith scored on a wild pitch a batter later and the recent trend of slow starts looked to be over.  The Knights picked up another run in the second after Logan Cypher singled and scored on a Luke Priester single.  

But those would be the only runs that the Knights could manufacture, as they jumped out to a 4-2 lead after 3 innings.  In the bottom of the fourth Avonworth scored 4 runs on two 2 run homeruns, and held on for a 6-4 win.

Knoch takes on Shadyside Academy Monday at 5:30 and celebrates Senior Night!  All Saxonburg Area Baseball Association players will get in for free.
