Girls Varsity WrestlingCongratulations to Braylee Ireland on becoming the first Knoch Wrestling individual WPIAL Champion in school history. Braylee won the 118lb WPIAL Saturday at North Allegheny High school going 4-0 on the day. She will advance to the Western Regional Tournament to try to punch her ticket to states!

Boys Varsity WrestlingThe Knoch Men’s Varsity Wrestling team made some more school history Saturday advancing 6 wrestlers to the WPIAL tournament. Advancing wrestlers were Caden Hassler 6th 114lbs, Jarrett Crowe 5th at 127lbs, Brayden McGowan 6th at 152lbs, Wyatt Foster 5th at 215lbs, Lucas Rouleau 5th at 285lbs, and winning the first individual section championship in school history was Owen Layhew at 145lbs. Owen also notched his 30th win of the season breaking the school season win record previously held by Eric Green (2018).

Boys Varsity WrestlingThe Knoch Men's Varsity Wrestling Team Celebrated their Seniors with an Exhibition Match against West Shamokin HS last night. Winning by a score of 56-16. All five seniors got matches and wrestled really well! Tanner Crowe lost a 17-4 decision but showed fight that only Tanner can show. Gritting through a 3rd period injury determined to finish the match in his last one at home! Derrick Glover, Wyatt Foster, and Lucas Rouleau all won by pin. Lastly, our final Senior, Angelo Natili picked up his first win inside the Knoch HS Gymnasium via 1st period pin! Other Knights picking up wins were Caden Hassler, Jarrett Crowe, Keegan Orris, Owen Layhew, and Brad McGowan. The Knights go to Keystone Oaks this Saturday for the WPIAL AA Northern Sectionals. While their two seniors, Miranda Lajevic and Jillian King were unable to compete do to injury. Their teammates made sure they got treated to a show by winning every match they wrestled. Winning for the Knights were Braylee Ireland, Carma Forty, and Makayla Pethtel! The girls go to North Allegheny this Saturday for the Girls WPIAL Individual Championships. Good Luck Ladies!
